The site for budget travelers & long term nomads who want a unique, authentic local experience!
I'm a full time traveler, living 'on the road' (& a budget.) Whenever I travel somewhere new I
endlessly research my destination to learn about its culture and find cool, non-touristy places to
visit and unique local festivals to attend.
Frustratingly, I’ve found nearly every travel website lists the same, well known attractions,
with content chosen purely for it's advertising potential instead of being geared to the traveler's
interests or needs, and rarely do they have anything of note about the history of a place or people.
It's a Herculean effort to find both the necessary practical travel information and the activities, dining, small
gems and quirky places I am actually interested in seeing.
I created Unmoored to collect my experiences in one convenient place, so others won’t have to do the hours of leg work I always do! It’s your ONE STOP TRAVEL SITE full of everything you need to know about your destination like; - is the water safe to drink? - the local currency - should you tip? - how to get around town - emergency numbers - will anyone there speak English? Plus local legends, fun-facts & background on the regions' culture.
I don't spend too much time on the traditional, well known attractions, not because they aren't worth seeing, but because you don't need me to tell you to visit the Eiffel Tower or Leaning Tower of Pisa.
But, did you know there are also Leaning Towers in Russia, Poland, Belgium, India, China, Germany, The Netherlands, Malaysia, & four more in Italy? Technically, even Big Ben tilts!
That's why I'm here!
In these pages you will find the stories of my world wanderings with an emphasis on the
unique, fun and insane things I've come across. You'll get recommendations for the best local coffee & ice cream, book stores, world heritage sites, museums, nature sights and festivals as well as the hidden oddities that you won't find on other travel sites because I haven’t just visited, but have lived in most of the destinations.

Hi! Here's a little about me...
I’m a writer and a costumer for film & TV.
A lot of my travels in the States have been on film projects..
When it came time to say farewell to that part of my career I missed the excitement
of meeting new cities and couldn’t sit still in just one place!
So I packed my whole world up into two small bags and a backpack
and have been living Unmoored ever since.
This site is my travel diary and way of sharing my life with the loved ones left behind,
